zzz - dream

All the speed he took, all the turns he'd taken and the corners he'd cut in Night City, and still he'd see the matrix in his sleep, bright lattices of logic unfolding across that colorless void...

suppose a sleeping person is given LSD through a drop of water in that big, snoring mouth.

it wont affect their dreams. they will wake up sooner than if they weren't dosed, and will wake up tripping. that is all.

ive fallen asleep while coming down on LSD, and even that is hard to accomplish. the reason you cannot sleep on LSD is because as well as being a hallucinogen it also works as a stimulant on your central nervous system. its like trying to sleep on speed.

ive also dosed someone with LSD while they were asleep after they requested it. they did not dream. as far as i know, most people don't seem to dream if they're asleep with LSD in their system.

if you want crazy dreams, take melatonin.
if you want to trip balls, take LSD.

btw - you probably could've googled this.. :/

I fell asleep coming down after taking a fuarrrkton of etizolam, didn't have any dreams either. I do however remember dreaming while coming down from 2C-E or I (can't remember which, also with etizolam) and I dreamed of floating through my backyard and suddenly was hit with an incredible shot of euphoria.

Also huperzine a and galantamine are best drugs for dreams in addition to melatonin.

After a while from not getting high (weed) my waifu gets insanely vivid dreams. Today I was in some japanese-esque hotel running around saving everyone from something (not sure what) until I noticed I was in a dream and then looked up and noticed the moon and thought to myself "wow my mind on its own created that dope as moon" so I picked my legs up and just started floating while observing the moon and started making it get bigger and bigger.

When I realize I'm in a dream like this it furthers my belief that this life now can (and probably is) a "dream" created from a dmt trip from my mind right before I died in a past life.

As a mild dissociative, deliriant and alcohol user they made my dreams more sexual. Ever other dream I have had sexual intercourse involved in some way sometimes to the point that it shakes me awake.

One dream I had that really sticks out was when I was shaken awake by orgasmic screams I heard while I was dreaming and when I awoke I still heard them for a second or two.

Pretty bizarre stuff.

from my experience it does - it's sold as a natural sleep aid, maybe it facilitates faster REM sleep?

Its a documented phenomenon that weed suppresses REM sleep and continual use will cause REM rebound which can manifest as more vivid and longer dreams

I know this isn't /drg/ but since Calea is 100% legal everywhere this should be fine. I want to know if using Calea will make me dependent on it to remember my dreams or even lucid dream and if will make it more difficult to start lucid dreaming at will like the people here.

Yeah, I try to do it as many times as I can each week. I practice Vipassana meditation for personal insight into things, along with some technique that I learned by word of mouth earlier this year that I haven't researched the name of, as well as mind palace technique. I feel like it has told me a bit about myself and my thoughts on various things, and in general made me more open minded. It's also helpful for reenergizing after a bad day.

Anyone ever have experience being tickled in their dreams? it is never something I would compare to being tickled in real life. Its almost like being shot with a stun gun, the sensation is magnified to the point of not even being able to move when feeling it. I absolutely hate it and was plagued with dreams involving it as a child. Now whenever my dreams decide to act up I go almost lucid and wake myself up before anything else can be done.

Anyone know how to fight back against this soykaf in their dreams or to prevent it from happening in the first place? I know dreams can somewhat be programmable but I also know that they can be unpredictable too.

pic unrelated.

you need some way to tell if you're in a dream, I think. That way, you can realize what's happening and change things to protect yourself.

Does anyone else have extremely crazy dreams all the time? Mine are just so profound with tons of things going on. Very very weird too. I have never heard a description of another person's dream that comes close to my normal ones.

Last night i had one having to do with demons and wizards, school life, two human sized meat grinders, bruce willis, self-aware living tumors, reincarnation, marriage, breathtakingly large flying creatures and sports. This was all tied together into a cohesive plot and everything made perfect sense at the time.

When i was younger my dreams were more mundane, but got increasingly weirder as time went on. Now it is very rare to have a dream that isn't off the wall. I love them and would not like it any other way, but i'm curious to see if anyone else has dreams like mine.

I recently dreamed I was on a little carnival ride like the slow moving ones at Disney World that pass by dioramas and the like, except to the right of our train was a massive IMAX screen showing a 3D movie which looked entirely real. A huge space ship appeared on the screen which was like a cruise liner only in space, and a massive volley of plasma bolts erupted from the side of our train striking the civilian ship, reminiscent of cannons on a pirate vessel of old. Passengers including families with small children leaped out into empty space to escape the horror on board. Then our train continued on with the ride.

Does that count?

>>900
Sounds about right. A few times i had some that weren't in english. Just a bunch of grotesque soykaf speaking in some unknown tongue. Was more like watching a movie, i wasn't in the dream. Though i could kind of 'feel' what they were trying to talk about sometimes.

>>

I think its because me and you, Op, have creative minds and we consume a lot of fiction.

I have this dreams sometimes and i am never me on then. The weird thing is that everything makes perfect sense at the time, just like you.
It's like i incarnate someones body and have a momentousness memory of the character i am, all in other dimension where our logic does not applies.
If someone is interested, i can relate some dreams, i have a dream diary.

More often than not. Although lately I've had an increasing amount of connections to my waking life in them which were painfully clear on the reasons, weren't metaphorical or trying to be subtle.

Mine are usually weird and crazy in a more abstract sense. What really annoys me about it is that I can't even get close to grasping them in words. Thus why my dream journal lacks half of the possible entries.

If the dream involves any story or easily describable events I can write it down but even then it doesn't do it any justice. I'd say it's because I'm just an illiterate dumnut but I don't know. I think it's also partly caused by the haziness of them and my occasionally poor recall. I can't put some of my weirdest dreams into any kinds of sensible sentences.

I'm actually learning drawing and stuff mostly in hopes that one day I'll be able to illustrate my dreams in some way.

Sure, do post.

So what do you guys think of alternate sleep patterns

Apparently thea make lucid dreaming easyer since you spend more time in REM sleep

Has anybody tried one?

Best sleep pattern I ever got on was
20 awake, 16 asleep - muh 36 hour day.
The `day' was long enough to actually get soykaf done and feel productive, while the `night' was long enough to ensure I always felt well rested.
That's actually how I discovered this - I had no job or classes at the time and decided to only go to bed when I was actually tired, and only get up when I wasn't anymore.
After just a couple cycles, my body naturally fell into 20/16.
It was great - Kind of doubt I could do it again today though.

Biphasic is pretty cool, I only sleep 6 hours a day now because of it. 1 hour nap + 5 hours sleep, you also get higher chances of lucid dreams and dream recall. My only problem is, I have to take a nap in the middle of the day. Something that work schedules rarely provide.

I don't have any free time between my classes, and two days a week I get home at 9 pm and have to wake up at 6 am.
I have classes because I live in the southern hemisphere.

How do I break out of being a 'picky sleeper'? When I get to sleep I stay asleep, but I always have to be snuggled up with a blanket in the same position. I can't just flop down on my bed during the daytime and nap like some people can, and when I do 'nap' I don't ever seem to actually fall asleep. Taking a siesta seems like a good idea, but I can't fall asleep as quick or as easy as is necessary.

I've been doing this too and the result is I'm starting to get "to be continued" dreams, something I thought was impossible. In other words the dream picks up more or less where it left off after I fall back asleep. In the past, once I woke up from a dream, that story was finished for good, no exceptions.

Being awake is suffering. When you're a busy person you start to realize that it all comes down to sleeping, and that all that matters in life is how much you're sleeping. I really want to sleep right now.

I used to, it probably depends on the situation you have in reality. I had some depression issues last year, that combined with summer heat and depression causing medications made me go into a spiral of suicidal thoughts and heavy (bottom of the pit) type of depression. During those times, whenever I wake up and remember my dreams (or at least the sensation of it) and remember my current situation. I feel that I wanted to go back to the dream and never wake up. Because the dream is more normal, that I had more control in it even though it wasn't lucid.

But when I stopped the medications and I started to cope with my situation, my depression faded and everything went back to some degree of normality. There are of course dreams that are so amazing I still don't want to wake up, but that's because the dream is amazing.

Well, there were also those moments where I wake up and become glad that it was all just a dream. That my situation in reality is better. (although most of those were before my depression last year)

Hey /zzz/ I lucid dream a fair amount without forcing myself to or training to - it just kinda happens naturally to me every now and again.

I usually don't do much with it - usually only semi-lucid I guess - but sometimes I have a fair amount of agency and I can manipulate the world and defy gravity and know that it's all a dream and still stay interpolated etc.

So, I was having a dream that involved a girl I like and it went lucid so I tried to do a lucid sex dream - holy soykaf worst idea ever. I don't know why because I knew it was a dream but dude it felt like I was mind-controlling her, I couldn't do it. It was horrible.

So yeah, tl;dr - lucid dreaming + trying to control other people = weird experience. I woke up feeling pretty shaken with myself.

Anyone else had anything similar?

Sound similar to my experiences.

I lucid dream most every night. Usually involves grills, shooting things or space exploration.

But when I'm with a girl in my dream it's all consensual and all that, if you could call it consensual in a dream. But foreplay is fine, as soon as I go to put penor in vajayjay I freeze, I can't move or do anything, just think.

Lately, whenever I fuarrrk a girl in lucid dream I become so self conscious that I know on some level that the girl I am fuarrrking is "me" so after a while, while I am fuarrrking her, she looks at me with cold dead face, just staring at me while I fuarrrk her.
That usually scares me enough to wake me up.
