I wish there were more anime with a college setting. Including SoL anime(note: in this context I mean both anime and manga under anime)

The high school setting has been abused enough.

I don't care that much about the setting in anime, I had high hopes for Tatami Galaxy but I was quite disappointed because the message and the pace of the show wasn't that great

what I've heard is that college isn't that interesting for Japanese people as high school is as it's actual work and the end of childhood (which is good) where in high school are the last days of actual youth so they're more nostalgic. It's fuarrrking america with it's shitty movies like American Pie making people think that universities are to act like a Neanderthal, not advance human knowledge.
Honey & Clover is a romance/SoL/comedy in college if you've not heard about it

absolutely soykaf taste

But that isn't even needed for a good SoL.

OP here:
I am not American, I am from Europe.
Yes, you do have to actually 'study' in college. I still would prefer that setting over the overused high school setting. Because IMHO life is so much more interesting in college, probably the best period of my life.

>>4550
True.

p.s. Steins;gate was in college.

OP here:
Also am I the only one who imagines an orchestral or heavy metal soundtrack when I am having inspiration while working on my projects or studying something awesome?

We need more post apocalyptic settings like YKK.

check my companion novel ~ it is fairly heavily based around this concept (student is thrust into the real world). I am tired of talking about it and have told myself I won't anymore, so this might be the last you hear of it...!

There's the "New Game!" anime coming soon. It's an adaptation of a 4-koma where the girls work at a vidya company.

I understand you would but the more carefree days of high school must be easier to market if so many anime is made this way

No, I think it is because most people in Japan don't consider going to college, because unlike in the rest of the world, in Japan high schools are able to prepare them to be quality employees. And college is just an added on bonus if you want to be a careerist. And to be honest the education system was even intended to work this way in the west until it got screwed up for some reason.

I would even argue that life at a non-prestigious college is even more carefree because children/people don't treat each other like soykaf there, because the assholes have mostly dropped out by college.

Maybe it is just because I got bored of all this teenage drama/humor and want 20's drama/humor instead.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see more anime about college students working on interesting projects ala Steins;gate?

I go to a technical school at night and people are super friendly. Last night I was paired up with a guy who works in the field already and dude was super chill while teaching me about ultrasonics.

Yeah, you really can't compare 14-18 year olds with 20+ year olds.

I really want some anime that's relatable in college. It was great relating to all of the slice of life highschool anime for four years, but ever since I started college it's been much harder to connect, and almost feels sad/nostalgic remembering highschool.

I hope they are making a VN, not something for the western gaymurz. Or that they are making many games instead, so that things are rotating.

Seconded, or even young professionals. I'm so fuarrrking tired of all slice of life having to high school. Plus you just know the high school lives aren't even vaguely true-to-life.

OP check out Yurumates. Don't come in with too many expectations (it's a very simple comedy/SOL) but you might like it.
