Mine is definitely Gumi, she has the best tone and voice over all. Also like Rin and luka. Too bad no one uses anyone but Miku who i find to be one of the worst vocally. Very rarely is she tuned well and she have little range outside of higher octaves. People always use her but do it terribly. i like Len, Kaito, and Gakupo.

I've been getting into uatu more so though. They typically sound more realistic than vocaloid. Plus its free and the community is all about sharing and making things for everyone to use and create with. Ritsu Namine is unbelievable sounding.

IA is my favorite Vocaloid. ONE (technically CeVio but still part of the Aria-on-the-Planetes series) is my latest interest. Gumi is top-notch as well.

Gumi is definitely top-notch. I consider her the second-best Vocaloid out of all I have encountered. While I have plenty of Miku songs I appreciate, I fully agree that she's misused a lot.

This first image bugs me a lot. I mean, noone in Russia is going to have windows like this. See the snow outside? It's probably cold as fuarrrk. Windows as pictured don't provide insulation required in such place. Russians either have old, wooden windows or new plastic ones which have two layers of glass and are pretty sturdy.

I am currently on Vol. 6 of Knights of Sidonia and got the last Vol to read of Biomega, and they are both fantastic. I love the designs of the buildings (explained by Nihei's history as an architect) and I also love the cronenberg-esque grossness creatures in both works. Anyone into this soykaf?

Finally finished Blame!

It is seriously fuarrrking good. I felt it lost pace around vol5 but picked it up again around vol 8. Basically, when it gets very close to being DnD with cables and gun fights. It has so many /cyb/ themes and concepts, its almost a greatest hits for the genre, covering concepts that I've seen in animea / mangas like Dominion, GITS, AD Police and others. I really appreciated the sense of scale, which is present in most of Nihei's work, but is especially exercised in Blame! And also the fairly loose story, it felt very laden in mysticism. Overall I enjoyed the story in Biomega more than Blame! but the journey your taken on with Killy and Cibo is wonderfully engrossing and more esoteric. Although, obviously the art in Biomega and NOiSE is much better. Nihei's sense of space always seems a little merky, which I actually really enjoy, I would often find myself flipping back through the pages to look closely for more details to explain movements and positions, particularly in explosions, but Biomega was a lot clearer in that sense. Straight after finishing it I immediately read NOiSE and the 2 sequels. NOiSE and Net Space Engineer are spectacular, it's a shame that there havent been more chapters to NSE, as it sets up a potentially awesome character. I also read the Blame high school books which are very funny. Anyone else read the related texts?

Now, back to Sidonia.

I'd go with a few of the Blame spinoffs and then move on to the next series. I read Abara second because it was really short. After that Biomega and so on.

>Nihei just wasn't able to capture it again

This. BLAME!'s scale is tremendous. Just look at the followup work, biomega same universe, basically same characters, but just wasn't the same not in size, scope, or bizarreness. That's really what BLAME! had.

The story is easy enough to relate to, it's the prototypical "hero travels to find X" but the size was so large and the tech was so advanced that when you read it and try to wrap your head around it, real life just pales in comparison.

The jupiter sized room, the elevator that takes 10 years to ride, chibo getting stuck in time, massive self contained worlds inside the dome, the security forces. When a person tries to rationalize BLAME! insanity we go taste a little bit of that insanity as well.

The ending(not counting the short sequels) I thought were very tragic and poignant. A hero at the end of his lonely journey.

In rough order of excitement: Aria if it gets released (is it a movie or an OVA? I don't really know), Yuru Yuri, the Hibike Euphonium specials, One Punch Man (I love the manga), GochiUsa (if I finish S1 in time). I might try some random shorts but I don't think I'll be watching any other full length series. Itoshi no Muco, JK-Meshi!, Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note, etc. If the Tamayura movies get put online I'll watch them (I think the first is available? I haven't checked on the others).

>>4269
Legal sites like crunchyroll get the script ahead of time so they can translate it and simulcast. If Yuru Yuri is being simulcast it'll get this (and I'm guessing it will be) and Horriblesubs will probably put it up. These days it feels like fansubbing groups don't care about speed anymore because either Horriblesubs is there first (and thus they should focus on quality because a speedy source is available) or no one else is subbing it (in which case they'll take their time because there's no competition). Sub quality doesn't matter that much imo as long as it's not truly bad so I just watch whatever's available. If I like it I'll look for a BD release, which is usually done by a fansubbing group pretty slowly.

Apparently there's a movie adaptation of that Ajin manga. that might be interesting - as well as that scientist murder mystery with character designs by that madman who wrote punpun. maybe some noragami. definitely some yurus

who knows, everything else looks pretty gay as usual

also season twelve of greys anatomy just started up so id say this season is going to be pretty rad

I'll give Concrete Revolution a try because it's an anime original. I'll watch Owarimonogatari because I'm a SHAFTfag. I enjoyed the first season of Noragami so I'll probably watch the second as well.
After that I'll most likely pick things up if I see them discussed here or on /a/.

The romantic relation you're talking about is unnatural, there are clues here and there, in volume 6 you discover that Tgurneu brainwashed Adlet into liking Fremy and since she killed Adlet's sister now he hates her to death.

I always had faith in Adlet, the strongest man in the world. I'm glad that he, the strongest man in the world, pulled through until the very end.

Who are your favorite badass anime women?

Lots of anime has badass guys, but it's not as common to have badass female protagonists (and especially not villains). It seems even rarer than it is in western media, so I'm curious what people's favorites are.

Some of mine, in no particular order order:
- Riza Hawkeye
- Mikasa Ackerman
- Balalaika
- Saeko Busujima

My personal favorite would probably have to be the classic 0079, I just had such a good time with it and it became the outline for almost all of the other Gundam plots.

The first I ever saw was 08th MS Team, which was similarly pretty fantastic.

I could never really get into the SEED series, personally not a fan of it but I get that others are.

I actually though AGE was alright despite poor reception, though I only watched the first two parts
