No camera but I can say what my battlestation might look like. I'm planning on doing a mini-itx build on a budget, have planned out all the parts I'll be buying.

The case will be the Cooler Master Elite 120, which is small, but not as small as the 110. I would've bought the 110 until I realized the PSU blocks about half the inside, and sits almost directly on top of the mobo. The 120 is similar in position, but is slightly taller and has further room in the back and sides to allow for more airflow. Plus it comes with a couple case fans already, with another spot for one (which I will use). While I'm not expecting the best airflow, using this case will have better airflow than the other

I'm going to be using a Pentium G3258 and a MSI mobo (B85i) that apparently overclocks the processor well, and use a R7 360 for the GPU.
I'm cautious to overclock this CPU with such a small case, but I'll really only use it during the winter when I'm in college, and I keep the room cool anyways, so it probably won't be a problem. I don't need the power if it is a problem, so it's a win-win.

>>8547
>want a cute laptop!
Time to visit Craigslist (or equivalent)

Chromebooks are pretty cute, and easily boot whatever flavor of linux you want. Not to mention they have SSDs, so boot time is fast, but storage space is small. I recommend getting an SD card for storage if you get one.

I expected something along these lines; really cool. Had a Genesis as a kid and still got a N64 in storage and thought about getting a setup like yours, hence I'm glad to see that wouldn't be without precedence. Though I'm not quite sure yet if it's really worth it. Please do tell us, if you ran anything else on that CRT; would be much appreciated.

For the Lain picture, it was a shopped Theotokos with Lain face I made some time ago and uploaded here on bestchan. Made it printed on photo paper and it will eventually end in a beautiful frame to sit on my desk like a religions icon.

For the audio setup, speakers are Eltax Pro III, the amp is a vintage Akai AM-U02, the turntable an AP-B20C from the same brand. I don't remember about the Sony headphone, must be a pretty common 50/60 bucks headphone, still good and sturdy enough to be carted around for several years now. Overall I don't really know what it's worth but I guess if can ear the bass from poorly produced UG black metal albums and full sound range from classical stuffs or something like this [1] then it must be ok...

Wow, definitely saved that picture and will be printing out a page for my dorm once classes start. Do you have anymore like this? If you make more please upload them, this would make a great poster. I always thought Kalyx should open a shop on the $$ page where users can submit OC so we can sell and part of the money goes to lainchan hosting and part to the creator. I would definitely buy a high quality poster of this from there.

Hate to say this, but without the remote you can't do anything. One flaw of this set is that they didn't include a way to switch to whatever video output you're using for your console, movie player, ect.. on the set itself. The channel 3/4 thing is usually something reserved for devices connected using an RF cable.

I'd say it's worth it to get a remote, but the official one cost me more than the TV itself. You may be able to use a cheap generic universal remote, but that's outside of my realm of knowledge.

I have two lines in, one is the families century link line with about 50MB/s down and 20MB/s up, and the other is a fibre symmetrical 150MB/s through a local company.

You need a decent knowledge of networking, load balancing, and general administration.

It is all pretty easy if you take it slow and read a few books.

In a similar way I have my dreamcast set up to my monitor, but the dreamcast does VGA natively so it's a little easier (still need an adapter)

It also helps to have a 5:4 screen because dreamcast can't into widescreen.

My computer is a T61p on a docking station, which uses DVI to the second screen.

Getting some stuff in the mail (including but not limited to an x200 tablet with docking station) either this week or next, so I'll wait till I get all the stuff, then set it up

And fuarrrk I don't even know where to put the x200t, maybe on the shelf above? It could work because I'll be using it while on the go, but I'm still low on desk space in the first place.

I would just say clean everything up a bit.
Get rid of those bottles, clear your walls of those papers, clean up all of those wires. Perhaps you could buy a cheap folding table to put your laptop on?

>>9697

Kind of a similar issue, I would suggest cleaning up your room. Remove the hamper of dirty clothes, put it in your closet or in a corner or something. Clear off that dresser a bit, put some display kind of items on it.

>>9688
6/10
You have a lot of potential there though. Clean up those wires, perhaps move that folding table somewhere else and just tidy everything up more. I actually kind of like that table setup, it looks spartan and strong.

Buy new headphones, atleast ones that cover your ears. Also a mount for them would look nice. Besides that consider more wall decor, a poster, painting, or whatever.

>>9146
8/10
You really have all the parts of a great setup, but you need more space to spread them out. Two small stands on each side for your speakers would be great, but really just try to spread things out more. Perhaps a single larger table?

Re-arranged stuff recently.

- Desktop is now driving all 3 monitors
- 'Keyboard' is now just the bastion host like she should be
- Hooked up 2 more monitors for server console/machine I'm working on
- Moved some of my old towers under my desk, once I get them all running it'll be the 'beard farm' - gonna install different distros on each
- Put my hardware packaging somewhere other than on my desk
- Actually put the second switch in the right place

Don't think I've done much else, unless anyone wants to see my storage of computer stuff.

I like the little alcove look it has going on, with the brick wall and everything; although it does look a little cold. But what is throwing me are your monitors. Are sitting inbetween them? If you are then you would bee looking at the two edges, but if not that means you are looking at one monitor from an angle. So really one of your monitors should be turned a little, the one on your left I think.

Desktop PC and Mac mini connected to the same monitor. Old Slot 1 440BX PC sits under my desk.

Want to get an ikea countertop desk, a second monitor and some speakers, but I think it'll be a while until I can get all of that. Only having one monitor is a pain in the ass since I actively use two computers.

I hate to bump the thread if it is dead, but I wanted to share my battlestation at my new place.

Figured I would cut down on the amount of stuff in my life. My 45TB+ array is still here, downstairs where I can not hear it, but I have decided to move down to a single laptop (T410) as my primary, and I have a few spares if something goes wrong. It feels pretty darn minimal, which I hope is not to lame for you all.

Not quite sure if I like the TV there, but it is nice for watching anime when I am done working. I may get rid of it though, as it is a little bit of a distraction, and kinda makes the space weird.

While that second pic is super minimalistic, it pains me to see such a drop in productivity with 1 screen and no real mouse. Balance between full-on desktop and nearly nothing is needed, so I'd go with that first pic.

Also, if that's going to be placed with any permanence, I suggest getting a docking station. Allows for DVI out, more USB ports, and headphone/speaker out all at the back, for neater cables. Totally worth the $20 it cost for mine.

I have a similar setup, waiting for things to come from kalyx before posting.

I feel like my productivity drops with multiple screens sometimes. That's not always true, but sometimes it becomes a little bit of a distraction.

As for keyboard an mouse on the second picture, they are on the keyboard tray that slides out under the desk. The mouse is a trackball mouse, so I do not need a lot of space to operate to because I do not have to move it. The keyboard is a 60% Pok3r so it all fits down there.

Also, as for the dock, I am thinking of moving to a T420 or T430 because my T410 is not in great shape, and I am not sure if the docks are comparable across generations, so I will pick one up when. I decide what I am doing.

Thanks for the suggestions!
