I've been having this problem for a while, and I've searched a lot, and played around a lot too, but nothing has been of any use so far.
I have a Lenovo B40-30 laptop, and I just can't manage to turn it off without forcing it (long press), and I can't suspend it either, because it just freezes. I've tried this with elementary, which would just freeze at the logo, arch linux, which gives me this error https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd#cgroup_:_option_or_name_mismatch.2C_new:_0x0_.22.22.2C_old:_0x4_.22systemd.22 and manjaro-i3 with OpenRC, which froze when trying to unmount. I haven't used Windows on it, but I assume it'd work.

Does anybody know how to fix it, have any ideas or can try to help me understand why this happens?

I have an i7 and one of the cores would hang on shutdown, saying that it was working on a process. This happened in both antergos and arch. I tried to figure it out but it was too time consuming. This is one of the reasons I went to manjaro. Now I can shutdown/restart without a hard power off.

The problem is that none of the linux distros I've tried work, not even the easy ones.
