Think just two minute. Do you really think that they're gonna sell you something that is worth for you?
It's the inner concept of commerce. To conceive a product from multiple part which cost more than the part alone and your salary.
Moreover, the structure is little. So they can't have the best price for their parts. So the final price must be higher.
In one world: NO.
Just by some pouch with the item unitary.

the problem of this generation EEG brain-computer interface is that it can't compensate for folds of the brain and it can't read specific thoughts or ideas directly out of brain(but can associate them with brain activity pattern such as you thinking about moving your arm up or down)

Is the 1st edition of TCP/IP Illustrated worth reading? I know it's outdated, but is it outdated in the sense of being obsolete as or not covering more recent developments? Reviewers on Amazon say the 2nd edition, while not bad, is far less readable - which is important since I don't want to read gigantic walls of text especially about a technical subject matter.
>>

 No.14071

Depends on what you're going for. If you're going for general knowledge or to simply know more about computing: read EVERYTHING. If you're looking for specific knowledge of TCP/IP? Read it. Otherwise, I'd skip.

>>

 No.14073

I'm learning Python right but I also want to learn everything about how the internet works. Is TCP/IP Illustrated a good starting point for that? I don't really want to read something poorly written or jargon laden .

>>

 No.14104

>>14073
If you want to learn how the internet works start with the basics you can find anywhere online.

Ask these questions:
What is a packet?
What is contained in the packet?
How is the packet made?
How is a packet moved around a LAN?
How does a network device discover other devices within the LAN?
How is a packet routed over the internet?

Once you understand how that works then start looking into protocols and how the are made and work in the real world.

I hope these questions give you an idea on what to look for.

I haven't read TCP/IP illustrated, so I can't say to read it or not. But I have a lot of networking knowledge, so hopefully these questions will give you a good start on where to look.

Welp there goes the "Build a Browser" I was working on. This is actually pretty nicely done. Guess I'll scrap that project.

I'm glad someone took the initiative. All the top browsers are going to crap. Hopefully this picks up traction, I think I'll contribute to this instead of doing my own thing.

What's the one to get, I have a budget of about £200 and I'm only going to use it for programming and anime.
Cheers.

I recently bought a x200. I love the hardware but I am having difficulty flashing libreboot myself. If you are not practised in such things I would recommend getting libreboot pre-installed. You don't want to be stuck with the Lenovo bios' wifi module whitelist

I've ended up deciding on the x220. Thoughts? I really like the hardware and the IPS screen, however there is another version of the x220 on ebay that only has the little read mouse clit and a l/r click. I might get that just to check it out, the guy has a 30 day returns policy (and I've bought off him before) so I'm not losing any money if its soykaf .

Also what's the deal with the wifi whitelist? why is it bad? I have literally no idea what it is...

>>

It makes you use only certain WiFi cards ie. if you break your card, you must buy a whitelisted one or your laptop will refuse to boot.

Sounds like a good purchase for $300. Go for it OP. In linux you will need to use the Not-Open Source Drivers for your video card if you want to game. It's no big deal though. Which MBP did you have?

When they say non-free they don't mean they're costly, they mean they aren't open source and freely-editable and distrutable.

Technically AMD is a little more open, but if you're not really all that worried about using open source entirely, sounds like a steal for 300$.

Whichever browser you use, have you ever noticed that sometimes due to bugs, when you click on a button the browser just ignores the javascript behind the code.

I have seen the same bug on the old Opera(Presto), Firefox(Gecko), Chromium(Webkit/Blink), so it really seems to be a case of bad web development which seriously annoys me.
>>

I find it happens a lot due to not allowing xss, cookie permissions, sometimes https.

I have a few questions about configuring i3wm... Sorry for my noobishness in all matters i3wm though.
a)How can I make it so that when I press a key combination that it runs a CLI command i.e. 'xset led 3'?

b)Is it possible to map some keybindings in a way that it does the following things:
1)Opens the default terminal
2)sudo apt-get update
3)sudo apt-get upgrade

btw. look at this interesting link I found:

How do I remove i3's default window decorations?

>decent copy paste in i3
I use parcellite as a clipboard manager. Aside from a clipboard history and searching it allows synchronizing the Ctrl-c and primary selection clipboards, so you can at least paste selected text from a terminal window with Ctrl-v to a GUI application. If you hoped for using Ctrl-c/v inside the terminal I'll have to disappoint you. Both combinations have different uses in bash: Ctrl-c sends an interrupt signal (SIGINT) and Ctrl-v lets you type control sequences literally (e.g. Ctrl-v followed by Ctrl-b prints ^b) and while some terminal emulators support Ctrl-Shift-c/v, you shouldn't rely on it. Shift-Insert or middle mouse button is where it's at.

>>13957
>How do I remove i3's default window decorations?
If you are referring to the window title bar, the easiest way to do that would be "border none" or "border pixel 1". However there are lots of ways to fine-tune this behaviour.
# Hide window titles
border pixel 1

# Show window titles on new floating windows
new_float normal

# Only hide window title on terminal windows
for_window [title="Terminal"] border pixel 1

Post too long. Click here to view the full text.
