MG1 here, after only 11 wins and my experiences with CS:S amounting to surf and bunnyhop. M4A1-S for life.

>>

Used to play a bit before life got in the way.
Highest rank was DMG, but I mostly played community servers.

same, CSGO is the only thing I can get myself to sit down and enjoy anymore. I can play other games but eventually I'm just sitting there wondering why I'm doing something that brings me no enjoyment

W... Well I can still enjoy other games but CS:GO is the only one that gives me long term motivation.

i've been seriously mulling over the idea of playing Eve online

but other than that csgo is the only game i play, it's really rad that it runs on linux

For me it's the opposite, as with any competitive game. At some point I'd just stop and wonder why I'm pouring so much time into doing the same things over and over again.

yes, LE here

comp can be so much fun we you have a nice teammates but on the other hand it can be really frustrating with russians/kids screaming to your ear

I just got this game not long ago. Its one of the better fps I have played. But I suck. haha. And I have played EVE. VERY fun. I would buy the longest subscription, its worth it. But you can pay for the game in game by mining and selling stuff. I like that the whole game is ran by other players.

Bhopping for WRs is the only fun thing in CS

Friend and I bought it during the last Steam sale. I'd like it more if I could play against people my skill level, but everyone I know is already decent and I can't do competitive against other shitty players yet.

I'm MG1. The game is at it's best when you're playing with a full team of friends and you somehow manage to pull through with the stupidest strats imaginable, which is like kicking dead whales down the beach because my friends barely play any more. I mean, the game mechanics are solid and enjoyable by themselves but are really brought down by the Russians you're matched with when you solo queue. It just ends up being frustrating more than anything.

ranked up to mge a few days ago

finally bought a mic, probably setting up a mumble server this week.

Try community servers, look for gungame, battle royale, warcraft mod, or minigames.

It's nice to start CS with the casual game modes, but that comes from a player who was really involved in the CS:S surfing community, I don't know what cs:go is like in terms of community.

Since Valve really pushes matchmaking as the primary to play anything, it's pretty bad.

You don't see many community servers running competitive rules or custom maps. The community servers are mostly just for surf, minigames, kz, etc.

this thing should come with a volume warning

Does anyone play on linux that could help me? I'm trying to ditch windows once and for all but I'm getting terrible performance on linux; even when it says I'm getting 200+ fps the game feels stuttery and there's like a 0.5 second delay on audio, and sometimes clicks don't register if they're too close to each other.

I run it on Arch with intel 2500K and Radeon HD 6850 with FOSS drivers. I remember it not working well at 1920x1080 so I cranked it down to 1600x900 and it runs with no problem.

What setup do you have?

>>

For any multi-player/competitive games I strongly suggest dual booting.

I've tried both linux CS:GO and windows CS:GO and soykaf like cursor movement feels so fuarrrking different.

Does this game require a powerful computer to run?

>>

ID: d158c No.2910

>>2902
i5 4570k and Radeon R9 270X, using the latest proprietary drivers. The fps count looks like it should be running fine, just feels like something is bottlenecking it

>>

>>2906
No, hardcore players even play on the lowest settings possible for some reason.

>>

try decreasing res

also switch to the foss drivers

>>

>>2921
>for some reason.
for obvious reasons: all visual fluff is a disadvantage

for example in cs:go, low-res smoke will hardly be thicker and harder to see through than high-res smoke.

Did anyone watch Dreamhack?

That G2 - EnVyUs game was exciting. The production of the whole event was really good as well.
