Hey guys. I was discussing with some other lainons in IRC about vanilla wow. Other people showed interest, so we decided to make an official board for it for anyone that wants to play.

>What game is it?
Vanilla (aka unofficial, free WoW not support by blizzard)

>What kind of game is it?
MMORPG that's about 12 years old

>What server do you guys play on?
We play on TheRebirth. A Vanilla Blizzlike 1x rates to everything.(http://www.therebirth.net/)

>How are the scripts?
The leveling (in my experience) is flawless. TheRebirth is humble about being the best vanilla scripted server to date. (Personally I've had experience on two other servers and they were soykaf)

>What's the catch?
TheRebirth is a low pop server, recently it had a 6 month downtime due to a DDOS and a 6 week rollback. In January of this year they got everything back to normal and upgraded to prevent it from happening again. (Rebirth Wiki) All it needs is more players to fill in the gap. A lot of people left because of those 6 months, but the people who stayed still participate as a community.

>How do I play?
You need to torrent or download a 1.12 vanilla wow client. (Unofficial, so do not go to Blizzard's site for this). Then follow the instructions on TheRebirth. If you need help go ahead and ask.

>What faction do you guys play?
We play on Alliance.

>How do I contact you to play with other lains?
Our guildname is <Lambda Knights>. Whisper anyone who's online. (Rehboot or Naviseals) and make sure to join /global

i have a problem with the 1x exp because vanilla wow is super grind. the 4chan vg server has 7x. please don't do 1x on vanilla.

I looked into Vanilla WoW some time ago when I was searching for grindy, relaxing games. Didn't grip me and had no one to play with, because server was max 15 users all the time. I might be interested to jump in, but not before oct or nov.

Its all the same game with just more content every patch and some changed classes every now and then. I'd say WOTLK is were its at. I just wish everyone didn't have to play DKs. I don't know about how they are in end game WOTLK but when I was playing WoD Monks were probably the most OP class. Seeiosuly they get food melee, some dps, and healing. That's not fair in any way.
