>A Japanese mathematician claims to have solved one of the most important problems in his field. The trouble is, hardly anyone can work out whether he's right

>Three years on, Mochizuki's proof remains in mathematical limbo—neither debunked nor accepted by the wider community. Mochizuki has estimated that it would take an expert in arithmetic geometry some 500 hours to understand his work, and a maths graduate student about ten years. So far, only four mathematicians say that they have been able to read the entire proof.

>He's right about that
His statement was that in no case is logic "concerned with truth". Your statement proves that there is at least one case in which logic is "not concerned with truth". That's not enough to prove his statement completely.

You would either need to prove deductively that there is no such statement or observe every conceivable statement and demonstrate on a case by case basis how each statement falls into the category of "not being concerned with logic". I can guess which line of reasoning you would prefer.

The irony here, of course, is that his statement can't be determined to be true without the intervention of pure logic.

Does anyone actually believe them considering they've lied countless times, break the law, have been proven to blackmail politicians, and what they've been doing this whole time has been unconstitutional?

Also so what if they scale this back, they're still collecting everything else.

And even if they're actually replacing it with a more scaled back, targeted system we're all still going to be targeted. We use Linux, we care about our privacy, we use encryption. Remember the LinuxJournal incident a couple years ago? All of us are potential terrorists in their eyes. Some people here are anarchists, some socialists, some people have attended protests or have political beliefs that go against the status quo. I bet you use encryption, are you a pedophile? If you're not a criminal then what are you trying to hide? Just trying to enjoy your constitutional rights to privacy and freedom of speech that many people fought and died for? You want to live in the land of the free rather than 1984? You don't use Facebook? You don't want the the government and corporations to know every detail of your life? That's pretty suspicious, you could be a member of ISIS so we're going to have to monitor everything you do. It's for your protection, don't worry about it.

TL;DR This gets privacy advocates to quiet down a little bit and make people think they have some level of privacy or that the government represents them and is looking out for their right to privacy. It's business as usual at the NSA. If you believe in the constitution and freedom you're a terrorist.

I'm fascinated with the nature of cats. They are reliant on humans and have been breed for centuries yet refuse to be domesticated like the dog.
They refuse to surrender to might and authority, ignoring humans and attacking beings never mind how much stronger or bigger they are compared to them.

>>

I reckon its something to do with historic use, a cat was historically only kept around to chase pests (birds, rats) and this was the primary reason they were fed, dogs on the other hand were tamed, taken to the hunt, made to herd sheep, and this has made us select dogs tht exhibit more "dog"-like traits

Coywolves are cool, but I like dogs more. Especially hunting dogs. I do like cats, but only barn cats. I think it's a silly waste of money to have a fat, useless, inside cat, but some people like the companionship, so to each their own. But I absolutely despise when people have toy dogs/purely inside dogs. You've taken a proud animal that was bred to run alongside humans, an animal that is incredibly perceptive and intelligent and you've made if a fuarrrking useless novelty. I'm not trying to say don't have a pet dog, I'm trying to say respect your dog and treat it like the animal it is, deserves to be, and longs to be.

- Pro-Freedom of Speech
- fuarrrk political correctness, you have the freedom to say whatever you want and I have the freedom to point out why you're wrong or that you're full of soykaf . No one has a right to not be offended. If you want a safe space go home.
- Pro Gun-Rights
- Free Market with some socialism, no government backed monopolies
- Strict on environmental protection
- Limited consumerism
- Anti-survellience, pro freedom
- Pro people growing their own food, forming autonomous, self-reliant communities
- Non-aggression principle. People can form communities with similar individuals if they want. Christans can form their own communities with their own rules, hackers, punks, druggies and so on can form their own with their own rules, rednecks can form their own community, anti-gun pro-nanny state people can form their. People agree to disagree and leave each other alone. Each city or state can be it's own thing.
- Athiest
- Pro-Abortion
- Religion doesn't define morality
- Pro-Drug
- Pro Universal Healthcare
- Limited welfare outside of healthcare and education (Gov helps people when they're disabled or lose their job but if people can't find work after a few months they're on their own. I don't believe people are entitled to the fruits of others' labor if they're capable but unwilling to work for themselves.)

Basically pro freedom.

We're never going to create a utopia. Christans, Muslims, Cyberpunks, Scientists, Atheists, Socialists, Capitalists, Environmentalists, SJWs, etc. are never going to get along. Forcing people with vastly different cultures and beliefs to live together doesn't work. Rarely is there compromise, one side usually dominates and when there is there are still a lot of unhappy people. Let people form their own communities and do what works best for them and don't be a dick if the community next door doesn't want to live or think the same way you do. I just think we need to come to an agreement about things like the environment. We all live here and environmental damage effects us all. But if you want to make your women wear burqas or worship the sky god or live in as a wage-slave or live in a society where drugs aren't allowed that's fine, just don't force it on me and if someone doesn't want to live in your society anymore allow them to leave and go somewhere that suits them better.

>>

ID: 723e45 No.18747

>>18746
And if one community doesn't want people from certain other communities to immigrate to theirs that's fine. Sometimes it only leads to problems and makes things worse for everyone already there. There will still be plenty of other communities that will accept you. Your anarchy-socalist state probably doesn't want mega-corps and capatilism and someone else's Muslim state probably doesn't want Christans or Jews both for obvious reasons.

>asexual

I don't know much about that.

I don't think it's impossible for me to find a girl. Some chicks have even asked me why I'm not in one

I think what holds me back most of the time is my conservative morality and just bad experiences. I don't feel like I'm fit for the kinds of relationships most people involve themselves in. There's also the issue of not really being in the right financial position.

But even if I could, I don't know if I could handle the pressure and responsibilities that come with a relationship and the thought of actually having to have sex isn't necessarily motivating. I also tend to just find the majority of sex to be really disgusting. I might just have really high standards, but I feel like I need these standards for some reason, even if I can't explain why I have them.

God fuarrrking damn it. Why does Amazon insist on contracting the USPS? They're a terrible business that generates a net loss of tens of millions annually.
