found it on overchan but like some other guys said here have seen in on 8chan and krautchan.

i've visited on and off but frankly i'm tired of those places and wanted to retreat to somewhere that was quieter permanently.

looks like i may even get back into computers you guys are so cool.

>>

 No.6682

I hope you guys from 8chan don't bring your soykaf here.

I've come from uboachan, even though I myself barely use it

A few months. Someone mentioned lainchan on 420chan's /prog/ iirc. I decided to check it out and I've been lurking ever since. This place is great :3

Someone mentioned it on /w/ in a lain thread. I think it was about December last year.

I suppose I "originate" from Uboachan, though I found this website quite a while before the link between the two was formed, as a sense of alienation from the former has driven me to seek out a new community in which to reside and participate.

I don't exactly remember how I came across lainchan, but I very much like the overall atmosphere here, in terms of both the general demeanor of the posters and the subject matter of the boards. In terms of time, I've visited here for at least the past five or six months.

I've chiefly been lurking, though I've made a few odd posts here and there. I'd like, however, to start posting and contributing more frequently.

I just came across is one day after my first rewatch of Serial Experiments Lain, i left it alone seeing how the people here knew more than me about computers. Later on i met kalyx in a chatroom and found out he was the owner and now i just lurk.

a few months. i found this place from some site with a chan in the name. i love desktop threads / unixporn. but i was pissed about all the pedantic arguments where every answer was just a regurgitated meme, not any real thought involved. lain as been a breath of fresh air.

>Great site full of liberal arts college students and wwe white trash.

Believe it or not, the "wwe white trash" on /wooo/ are in fact mostly liberal arts college students as well.

The old stereotype of all wrestling fans being backward rednecks has always been off base, but especially now in the 21th Century when the biggest cities for wrestling in America are New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago, none of which are in the south.

Ok, that is a nice feature... not bad.

I came here because I need to know as much as I can about everything. This is but one stop on my journey thru the various chans.

Some drama I have already forgotten about was happening on 8chan and as usual people were talking about leaving. I wasn't considering leaving 8chan but I was curious about other chans. Checked a few suggestions out and they were soykaf then someone mentioned Lainchan. They described it as "comfy" so I checked out /tech/ and /cyb/ and quickly discover the "cyberpunk" theme which just makes the site look sexy as fuarrrk. I have been browsing /tech/ ever since and although it's slow it's a nice board and I have no complaints about it. I browse /tech/ every single day and love when there are new posts to read. Then yesterday or the day before (I haven't got a lot of sleep lately so I really don't know which) I saw a thread saying that /tech/ might close down and then later there was a thread by a moderator saying that /tech/ had sinned and needed to be more of a hugbox. So I came to this board to see what people were saying about it.
And that is my complete Lainchan history because I'm a filthy newfag.

it's okay, just because you're new doesn't make you dirty. the homosexual part I can only let you speak for yourself but I don't think you should feel bad about it. the problems kalyx is having with tech is that there's too much /g/ and 8/tech/ culture still and not enough discussion of actual technology. we're still trying to figure out a solution, but what the users can do to help is report posts that violate the rules and make sure they don't violate the rules either

I just got here today. A friend of mine showed me this chan at a party last night and I've been browsing it all day, mostly downloading books and reading /cyb/. Also the cyberpunk theme and the music on radio are cool as fuarrrk.

This is my first post (of many, I hope).

I got here from the old wizardchan site in early 2014. Lain was slooooooowww back then lol.

I probably posted more back then because I wanted a faster board, but now I hardly post. I used lainchan early on to explore my software and computer preferences, but now I don't think about these things often. I keep my setup simple.

I've been to all of the boards at some point, but sometimes the topics are to deep for me, or I have a better alternative on another site. I don't use /w/ for example since I have a close group of people to talk about anime with elsewhere.

A friend told me about it, I suppose he found about it on 4chan's /g/.

I like it, it's chill, not full of retards, not full of bait.
I would actually donate If I wasn't poor as fuarrrk.

I was hunting for the serial experiments chan a few weeks ago which I thought was on serialexperiments.org or something and this place was a top search result.

Anybody got a list of the hidden boards? Apart from /test/ I only managed to locate /ht/ and that board seems useless/dead

>>

 No.7919

I was getting sick of 4chan, was long sick of people, and by extension was becoming sick of the internet in general. I'd seen that there were a lot of Lain / wired themed sites, and thought it was unusual. I think I just searched "lainchan" for the hell of it, and sure enough... Serial Experiments Lain is one of my all time favorites, I thought there might be people who are easier to get along with if they shared this.

I rarely post. I like places with a smaller population, but the slower rate is a bit too slow. I can remember exactly what threads I plan to watch, but don't always actually do so.

Mostly listen to the radio.

>>

 No.7928

I was sort of looking for new chans to post on, and I ended up here.

I really like this place. My main problem with places like Masterchan and 8chan is I feel as though they're trying to be the next 4chan, which is fine I guess, but Lainchan has it's own Identity that really makes it stand out from the crowd.

Whereas other chans take their content from one of the many era's of 4chan, Lainchan just does it's own thing. Which I can really respect.
