Alex+Ada

Sterile future with AI and androids. The story's about liberating artificially intelligent androids from the constraints that corps put on them.

It's by the Luna brothers. I highly recommend.

Pride of Baghdad is a really short read that's really cool
And if you don't mind reading something Marvel related, his run on Runaways was pretty fun too!

the only thing that made me wtf is the fact that they got busted TWICE at the mall and the minigolf

i mean what's up with that, who tf cares and why does the police even come

>>

 No.1399

>>1396
Eh, I can empathize with the other anon.
The one-sided anti-religious segments caught me off guard along with the unwarranted aggression towards old folks.
It makes a pretty good travel memoir as is, but it'd be much better if the author tried to give a more objective view on the events rather than from his perspective.

still neat though

>>

 No.1400

>>1399
did you read what the author writes on the bottom of every page? like right under the page he always explains what the page is about. He explains the religious ones and the ones about how he doesn't like asking for food\money

>>

 No.1401

>>1400
Yeah, and I can appreciate that. Explanation still doesn't rationalize a lot of the soykaf he goes about doing.
I can understand the aversion to begging, to a point I get the yell-at-god thing, but above all else the outright anger towards old people just gets my goat.
I'm not going to rant and rave about how some of my opinions clash against his, but the general distaste for everybody over fifty is just complete nonsense.

>do you only read books with likeable characters?
Of course not. I liked the comic overall. It's just difficult to get through some of it because of how pissy the protagonist is; sort of like A Confederacy of Dunces or The Catcher in the Rye.

Sadly true but I don't think that was the intention.

There's a trend with current youth culture to idolise the wrong people.
Spider is not a good person, he just tries to show how bad the rest of the world is.
No one should try to be like Spider, especially not bloggers.
That level of tenacity is obnoxious if you're not in the upper tiers of journalism, and even there it won't gain you friends or respect.
He does it for himself and his obsession with the truth.

Of course, these are the same people who see Tyler Durden as a positive role model.

I've just ordered the hardcover that's coming out in a week or two.
I liked Overture's story, but I LOVED the art. Totally worth having just to gawk at.

Not so long ago I saw this comic, dystopic, a guy was coaxed into the cyber revolt. A couple of brothers I guess.
Something like fish eyes or something.

ITT: People who have never read Hunter S. Thompson. Spider is just Ellis' take on Duke in the future. He's no better or worse than the real journalist who inspired him.
