reddit is decent if you ignore the comments, only newfags and /b/tards seriously thinks there is any rivalry

And just stick to nicer subreddits. The large ones are horrible.

there is a certain landfill, I do not recall where, that consists of hundreds of thousands of books. A certain publishing house had a surplus and dumped all their extra books there.

Books are not a sacred thing, and it's stupid thinking that they are any better than, for example, movies, which I assume you have no problem throwing to the garbage

I really like IRC for soykaf like this. Undernets #bookz was already mentioned but it sometimes doesn't work for me so I mainly use #ebooks at IRCHighWay for my downloading.

A couple of months ago I found bookzz.org which is pretty good, but I have the feeling that sites like this are killed when the copyright fascists find out so it will probably disappear eventually.

>>

They are not sacred, but they can be useful. Most discarded books are those who belong to public domain, since the publishing houses hold no monopoly over them. And they are usually good reads.

The only reason to throw away movies more readily is that they wear out more easily, and when damaged are harder to repair.

I don't know why I'd ever throw away a movie, and I especially don't know why I'd throw away a book.

get an irc client. go to IRChighway join channel #ebooks and then in the chat type @search "author or book title" you will get a .zip with a .txt file filled with all the books from that author. once you find the book you want copy and paste the title (everything before –info) into the chatroom. you then be sent your book.

Keeping in mind how few Norwegians there are in total, I'm amazed by how large the presence is on the internet. Chans in particular (I figured because of the "MOMO eller kampen om tiden" title.)

Or maybe it's just because fuarrrkers like me like to shout "HEY, HEY, ARE YOU NORWEGIAN? COOOOOL." every time we see someone who we think is a norwegian/swedfag/danskjævel.

Anyway; I'd also like to recommend the gentoomen library. It's got some neat CS books (which are very relevant on this chan I guess.) Link: http://books.gentoomen.org/
