Yo /drg/, something happened to me and is probably still happening to me to some extent. I know caffeine is a drug and I needed to stay up this Saturday. So I drank four cups of starbucks coffee between 6-10pm and I'm still up, but here's the thing, I've had lots of coffee before, more than this, why do I suddenly find myself so much stranger than usual? It's like my body sped up to high velocity like some speed force shit, saw the light of pure God within me and far beyond me and died down, leaving a faint memory of what I saw/heard/felt. I remember having a similar experience after smoking some real dank weed awhile back though not nearly as pleasant, maybe I drank some coffee that night too haha

one word: tolerance
When you drink coffee everyday your body becomes imune to it, after you stop for some time you're back to being hyper stimulated
I would advise you also dropping the starbucks and buying your own coffee or just buying caffeine pills(much cheaper/effective than hipster starcucks)

Thanks man, I don't think it was really the coffee that did it so much as the anxiety coffee normally causes made something inside me open up or clash that had been stirring in my paranoid and confused mind for awhile. Those existential or spiritual moments you gotta go through but are held back by something.

Caffeine, while not particularly intense has fairly interesting effects.
Generally the most common thing I've observed in myself while taking doses considerably over my usual daily dose was an intense feeling of mania, followed by an extremely heightened pulse and blood pressure and nausea.

Generally caffeine seems to "brighten" everything you see, while also numbing the mind, making things feel less "real".

It's very interesting in how subtle and varied it is in its effects.

>not brewing your own coffee
Also, either progressively increase the caffeine intake (bad) or just write up a consumption pattern that takes tolerance into account.

"Mania" sounds like a good way to describe what happened to me. I wasn't even aware until recently it was possible to overdose on caffeine.

When I just wouldn't calm down, I had a cup of chamomile tea and took a calcium/magnesium supplement and that seemed to help.

Yeah, if you've ever seen that episode of The Twilight Zone starring Rod Taylor where the three astronauts find out they probably don't even exist and begin freaking out the minute they "feel like they aren't supposed to be here," that's almost the way I started feeling.
