Hey /cyb/. I just finished making this site. It lets you make Deep Dream images

https://dreamscopeapp.com/

Would love your feedback and to have you try it out. It's much faster than running CUDA/Caffe yourself.

The gallery is here:

Enjoy!

I think it's about time we have a proper music thread since I imagine most lainons listen to a variety of music genres and we could really use some music related conversation.

I would like to start by making some kind of sticky on how to get music in general for those that don't know;

– search the /mu/ archives https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/
* for example: if you're looking for Michael Pisaro - Continuum Unbound you would search for "Michael Pisaro http" or "Continuum mega", etc
– also be sure to check /mu/ share or request threads since they are abundant with things anons are eager to share;
* example: go to 4chan.org/mu/share || 4chan.org/mu/request from time to time and skim the threads
– register on and install soulseek
* if you can't find it, it's probably on soulseek or what.cd
– over the time memorize/bookmark various sites maintained by individuals that offer ddls for music releases;
* example(my fav): nodata.tv
– {optional} get into what.cd

 No.1270[Reply]

Hello lains, this thread is for 1998AD, a community project that we're working on. Come join us on freenode #1998AD. We've got a few artists and writers already, and if you have some ideas to contribute we'll be happy to listen.

Here's the original /diy/ post:
https://lainchan.org/diy/res/398.html#q921

"I had a pretty /cyb/ idea for a project that we could possibly work on together. Making some fiction, art, or multimedia stuff. I was basically thinking about some of Google's projects and what their possible long term goals could be. I ended up connecting the dots in a kind of plausible way.

The idea is centered on Fiber being a plan to create infrastructure to leverage software as a service. Google will buy out industry standard software companies and incorporate photoshop, autodesk, maya, etc. into the Google drive suite. With the 1GB/s throughput, all the software can execute nearly entirely server-side, making for uncrackable DRM. Because of this, having a good computer is now obsolete. All you need is a cheap chromebook to connect to software services. At this point Microsoft and Apple have pretty much had their market niche desecrated, and are acquired as subsidiaries. Intel and AMD quickly follow suit, since the only people who need good processors are developers and engineers. At this bleak point it looks like Google has an absolute monopoly in the tech market, and will probably just keep growing. Facebook and other social media are likely targets. Letting imagination run wild, I can imagine a Google Party running for office in the US. We've basically set the stage for a cyber-punk dystopia within the next 25 years.

There are tons of great narrative possibilities with this. Imagine criminal warez groups that break into company headquarters to try to steal executables and personal data. Linux users and free software may become culturally associated with terrorism because of their opposition to proprietary software. A sub culture of freedom fighters emerge who scavenge and trade black-market components for their machines and coordinate secretly via p2p, creating and sharing illegal software and data.

Definitely could make for some good graphic novels and short stories. I'd like to see concept art and mock propaganda posters or things like that too. Flesh out the idea."

Could not find a version that downloaded to <25Mb... 25.5Mb was as far down as I could get it!

When recompressing in Miro - getting bigger file sizes with smaller video sizes!

But yeh youtube link is cool, for when all else fails... may as well start downloading all the good stuff from youtube too - Post TPP will probably see youtube become a wastland in time too (pic related)...

N.b. Youtube Enhancer Plus (FF plugin) works well to get Youtube vids 360p webm with good compression quality and file size, but can also do a nice 720p which is about as good as you need for the cause (especialy if its source is from youtube)!

Not that I want to put too much strain on Kalyx server bill - but it has 25mb so may as well go with it for now and see what the holy one says in time...

Also Tin foil stars *** doing it this way = less youtube tracking for us all...

Stunt Car Racer - Wow GRFX
Ppossibly the best racing game to this day! Apparently this MoFo was programmed entily in assembaly by the most holy Geoff Crammond, who went on to make Formula One Grand Prix series!

Hunter - Wow GRFX for world size, which was HUGE for the time.
The OG of GTA and open world fully interactive environment. This was a very good game to play too.

Winning Run
The 1st filled vector arcade game ever! - had custom chips developed for it and cost a bomb! Played well and was very smooth... Hard driving gets honrable mention as made it onto home computer without much grfx hit, except frame rate (and was only 2nd game with filled vectors).

Shadow of the Beast.
Original and best for the Amiga 500 - was jaw dropping... big sprights - check, excelent drawing - check, Multi layer paralax scrolling - check, massive amounts of colours in gradients - check! Was just epic at the time.

Xenon 2
Was the most polished shooter made (ever? - thunderforce 3 was good too!). Grfx were just so well finnished. It was the pinicle of the shoot em up! lighting, animation, draw detail, paralax, biggest end of level bosses ever - all came together perfictly.

Pit Fighter.
First ever digitized Grfx in a game... not that it was that good to play (IK+ best fighting game ever) or that the grfx looked better than well drawn art (like say shadow of the beast) - but it was "real" grfx and made a mark!
