Microsoft seems to be steeping their game up! They now have a non-Visual Studio code writing application, and it'd available on Windows, Mac, and even Linux!
It's pretty nice, also free. Try it out!

It seems like a clunkier version of Sublime Text/Atom to me and it collects information about you, but the C# stuff's pretty nice.

>>

 No.11177

It's gratis, not free.

How could something be clunkier than Atom? Or is it not soykaf now?

>>

>>11178
nothing could possibly be more clunky than atom :-)

>>11169
can i set up compilation and debugging in it? you know, F5 and F9, the usual shit?

>>

 No.11181

>>11178 I haven't used Atom in a long time, but I'd imagine that the performance itself between the two is the same, it's just that Visual Code Studio seems to have more of a focus on animation/showy effects. That's just based off my experience. The commandlet viewer just isn't the same on Visual Code Studio :(

>They now have a non-Visual Studio code writing application
It sounds more like they just put a skin over Visual Studio to make it less like Eclipse and more like what ever the Ruby^H^H^H^H^H Node.js developers are into these days. Not that I'm complaining.

>>

It's not bad but if you are used to Sublime I don't see the need to care about this or Atom.

Yes, Sublime isn't open source. It's also not a slow Chrome window acting like a native application.

Why should I care about another IDE? What's special or necessary about this one?

Also on a related note, why do people who like Micro$$$haft applications always feel like they're being paid to promote the company?
>Microsoft seems to be steeping their game up!

I feel like in this case it's just incidental but I swear I've seen true shilling on /g/ (at least when I used to go there). Maybe I'm just bitter about Microsoft? It just feels like all their products are mediocre.

Yeah, it does sound like a shill. It's just hard to believe a company like Microsoft™ would wage slave here.

>>

Well, sure, but it's not vim.

If you don't care, don't bother to post. That's how things works on this chan^^

Sorry for sounding like I was shilling, I only wanted people to test it out before bashing on it like people typically seem to do with Microsoft soykaf .
